Virtual Psychotherapy for Texans with Alcohol or Other Drug Problems
You don't have to "reach rock bottom" to make a change.
Alcohol and other drug problems can be complicated, but seeking help doesn't have to be.
With a passion for aiding individuals in recovery, those grappling with addiction, and those dealing with alcohol or other drug (AOD) problems, I have expertise in therapy for alcohol and other drug problems, harm reduction, and recovery. You might hate AA and be looking to moderate your alcohol intake, or you might be in long-term recovery but struggling to live "life on life's terms." Whatever your difficulty, I am much more openminded than your typical drug or alcohol counselor.
I specialize in alcohol and other drug-related issues, including addiction, alcohol use, substance use disorders, drug and alcohol problems, treatment trauma, peer support, recovery, co-occurring mental health disorders, and harm reduction. I will give you honest clinical observations and considerations based on a decade of experience working in the field.
I provide weekly, virtual, psychotherapy on a long-term (6+ months) basis. AOD problems can be confusing, distressing, and consequential. I don't have any quick fixes, but I believe change is more likely if it's on your terms, in conjunction with nonjudgemental, professional support.
I am specifically interested in working with individuals who have been underserved or harmed by America’s dominant, 12-Step-only, abstinence-only addiction treatment approach or the "Troubled Teen Industry." At the same time, I have a profound appreciation for 12-Step recovery programs and feel passionate about helping members of those organizations find a more integrated way of life. Additionally, I personally know many people who have benefitted from treatment, Alternative Peer Groups, and / or Recovery High Schools as adolescents.
I also have specialized training and expertise with a variety of concerns, including relationship difficulties, mood & personality disorders, suicidality, and thought disorders.
