If you have a problem with alcohol or other drugs, you don't have to "reach rock bottom" to make a change.
Virtual Psychotherapy for Texans with Alcohol or Other Drug Problems
Holley Counseling, PLLC
Lee Holley, LCSW, LCDC, PSS, RSPS
You said you were going to slow down or stop drinking or using drugs, but you keep kicking the can down the road.
When you search online, you mostly see results for residential treatment programs, and you're not sure if that is necessary. You might hate 12-Step recovery and be looking to moderate your alcohol intake or other drug use, or you might be in long-term, 12-Step recovery but struggling to live "life on life's terms."
There's a part of you that might want to brush this under the rug, but you know that you're not satisfied with things as they are and you want to change. Therapy is a time investment, expensive, and can be emotionally draining, but so would arrests, relationship problems, or divorce.
If this resonates with you, click here to schedule a free, 25-minute, virtual consultation.
I specialize in all things related to problems with alcohol or other drugs, including but not limited to -
-
recovery

I provide weekly, virtual, psychotherapy on a long-term (6+ months) basis. Alcohol and other drug problems can be confusing, distressing, and consequential. I don't have any quick fixes, but I believe change is more likely if it's on your terms, in conjunction with nonjudgemental, professional support. I will give you honest clinical observations and considerations based on a decade of experience working in the field.

When working together you might -
-
Gain a better understanding of the risks and benefits associated with your alcohol or other drug use
-
Experience less shame when dealing with these problems and be able to look at them more clearly
-
Build strategies to reduce the harm associated with drinking or using, even if you're not ready to quit
-
Determine that total sobriety or abstinence is the most straightforward and realistic route for you
-
Discover that avoiding certain substances (substance-specific abstinence) aligns with your goals
-
Find that your relationships, physical health, mental health, and functioning improves

I am interested in working with individuals who have been underserved or harmed by America’s dominant, 12-Step-only, abstinence-only addiction treatment approach.
At the same time, I have a profound appreciation for 12-Step recovery programs and feel passionate about helping members of those organizations find a more integrated way of life. Additionally, I personally know many people who have benefitted from treatment, Alternative Peer Groups, and / or Recovery High Schools as adolescents.

I also have specialized training and expertise with a variety of concerns, including relationship difficulties, mood & personality disorders, suicidality, and thought disorders.
Starting therapy with me doesn't mean you have an addiction, but it does mean you want to take a closer look at this area of your life. Again, if this resonates with you, click here to schedule a free, 25-minute, virtual consultation.
